Private Cooking Demonstrations

In-home demonstrations of your favorite dishes, for groups of 4 to 8. Chef will bring all ingredients to
your home and demonstrate and cook for you and your guests. Menus and demonstrations are
customized to your preferences. Fees are $60/hour plus cost of food.

Sardina’s Italian Bistro will offer its last dinner service on Saturday, May 15th. We will continue catering service and pre-ordered family pack dinners until fall, 2021.

For the past seventeen years, it has been a such a thrill not only to create my dishes and cook for you, but to get to know so many of you. Thank you so much for sharing some your evenings and celebrations with us and for sharing your stories of food and family with me—they have always been, and will remain, some of my happiest memories here.

The restaurant has had many amazing people work for us over the years. Thank you for your kindness and generosity with my staff. They have been an integral part of the spirit and longevity of the business.

As a working chef/owner, each dish I create is a reflection of my family, background and point of view. Everything I put in the kitchen pass-through—from the simplest pastas to my most fancy specials—say this is who I am. So for all your support of that for all these years, thank you, thank you, thank you.

NOTICE: Customers may call to arrange pick up at their requested time, however all orders must be called in not later than 7:30p for pickup by 8p. Sardina’s remains available for catering services seven days a week, for lunch or dinner, with three days advanced notice requested. Our regular restaurant menu items will be available for carry out, with some items limited due to local availability during this restrictive emergency period.

Susan Sardina was interviewed for a Reno Gazette Journal article about restaurants reopening after COVID-19. Here’s an excerpt:

Susan Sardina, who owns Sardina’s Italian Bistro in South Reno, another small restaurant, is pondering the numbers, too. Her 12 tables are now six.

“To reduce capacity by that much? I’m hopeful, but at this point, I’m not sure it’s sustainable,” said Sardina, who passed on Mother’s Day (“I’m just one woman, with a frying pan and a dream”), but who has been sustained by takeout during the shutdown.

“People typically come in here to dine,” she said. “Takeout was probably less than 5 percent of my business before. I was very worried. But people have been supporting us and referring us. I didn’t lay off a single employee.”
